Fleet Management Software

Trucking companies don’t just own one truck that manages all deliveries. No! Trucking companies are much larger than a few trucks and a few truckers. The trucking industry is a big industry; it is a multi billion dollar industry with a lot of complications. A medium sized trucking company would have close to a hundred trucks and vehicles used for deliveries and dispatches. These trucks and vehicles are driven by truckers working for the trucking company. Now, managing such a huge fleet of trucks and vehicles is no joke. It is quite a daunting task and it is not possible for any human to manage so many trucks without the help of any artificial intelligence. Well, that’s where fleet management softwares step in to save the day.

Fleet management software is nothing but software that manages records and maintains information about all the trucks and vehicles owned by the trucking company.

Average fleet management software can handle and store vast amount of extremely detailed information that would help the trucking company to manage their vehicles better. A fleet management software stores the distance traveled by a truck in a particular day, fuel consumed, mileage the truck gives, trucker driving the truck, last servicing done for the truck etc. Based on all this information entered by a human trucker, the fleet management software can calculate and alert the truckers when the truck needs refueling, when the truck needs to be checked and scheduled servicing needs to be done and lots of other similar information. The fleet management software can also record the information about stolen vehicles and store it for future reference.

Hence, fleet management software is a requisite for a trucking company since they can’t function well without effective fleet management software.
